New manager looks to new opportunities for Redhill shopping centre

13 May 2011

Newly-appointed Centre Manager at the Belfry Shopping Centre in Redhill, Surrey, Andy Nash, is looking forward to attracting more retailers to the Centre, which is set to benefit from major redevelopment projects planned for the town.

“The Belfry is already a popular family shopping destination and plays a hugely important role at the heart of the community,” he said.

“Planned key improvements in Redhill, such as the rejuvenation of the pedestrian areas and proposals for another major supermarket in the town will make the Belfry Shopping Centre even more of an exciting proposition for shoppers and tenants.”

Andy has 24 years of varied retail experience, mainly in department stores, and was most recently head of hire and projects for the Moss Bros group. He has lived in Surrey for the last 16 years. Andy takes over at the Belfry from Richard Cowlard, who has retired after five and a half years as manager.

Andy added, “With big high street names such as New Look, Marks & Spencer, Boots, The Body Shop and W H Smiths, as well as great cafes, independent stores and a host of free family events and promotions held regularly at the Centre, this is already the place of choice to come shopping for the day.

“I am now working extremely closely with our agents and marketing team to attract and bring even more retailers to the Belfry Centre who want to take advantage of the opportunities in this dynamic shopping environment.”

The 248,000 square foot shopping centre, managed by BTW Shiells, underwent a £1 million pound improvement programme in 2007, which also saw Marks & Spencer undergoing total refurbishment and expansion of its offer.
